Consumer Protection/Unfair Trade Practices

Corrigan, Bennett & Belfort, P.C.’s business attorneys are experienced at litigating Federal and State unfair competition claims involving unfair and deceptive business practices. Such conduct can include false advertising, misuse of confidential or trade secret information, trade libel and misrepresentation. The Massachusetts Consumer Protection statute (M.G.L. c. 93A) provides a private right of action for unfair and deceptive business practices. Corrigan, Bennett & Belfort, P.C.’s business attorneys level the playing field when our clients are subjected to unscrupulous tactics and unfair or deceptive acts and practices in the conduct of trade or commerce.  Our Consumer Protection attorneys aggressively pursue the business interests and rights of our clients by leveling the playing field when our clients are subjected to unscrupulous tactics and unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of trade or commerce.

If you have a question about our consumer protection/unfair trade practice, please contact Todd J. Bennett.

Contract Litigation

We provide aggressive and dedicated representation involving contract disputes, including collection matters, business disagreements, partnership or shareholder disputes, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, unfair trade practices, disputes regarding the terms of a contract, and other breach of contract matters.

Corrigan, Bennett & Belfort, P.C. has vast experience in litigating contract disputes with multibillion dollar Fortune 500 companies, closely held businesses and sole proprietorships. Contract disputes often arise over the written terms of a contract (e.g. an ambiguity regarding the termination date of the contract) or relative to a party's failure to perform as required (e.g. non-payment of monies owed); however, many of our claims relate to agreements that have not been solidified in writing.

Business contracts are oftentimes governed by the Uniform Commercial Code("UCC"), which requires, among other mandates, the parties to act in good faith and to reflect certain contracts in writing.  Additionally, the UCC may impose implied warranties for certain business transactions.  Our business attorneys are familiar with the most recent developments in this area of contract law and litigation.

Our attorneys provide competent, cost effective solutions to varying types of contract disputes.  We believe in offering our clients diverse strategies and options to deal with their contract issues and we carefully guide them through the litigation process if filing suit becomes necessary.

If you have a question about our contract litigation practice, please contact David E. Belfort or Todd J. Bennett.

Contract Drafting, Review and Negotiation
